Primary Program Mission & Philosophy
Montessori of Winter Garden Charter School is growing and, to facilitate that growth, we are very happy to announce that we are in the process of building a new campus on 18 wooded acres, off Lakewood Avenue, in Ocoee. With the new campus comes a new name - Innovation Montessori Ocoee. If you are applying to join our school for the 2017-2018 school year, please use the application tab for Innovation Montessori Ocoee (IMO). We hope to open our primary building (pk3, pk4 and kindergarten) at the new campus at the start of the new school year. We anticipate starting some students at the new campus in August, and having our remaining students join them in January, 2018. This is a very exciting time for our school. Again, applications to join us for the 2017-2018 school year are made through the Innovation Montessori Ocoee tab
Our mission is to provide a strong Montessori foundation that enables our students to achieve their full potential, develop curiosity, creativity, and imagination, and become responsible citizens of the world. We aim to provide an authentic Montessori education in our primary program, which serves children ages 3 and 4. The Montessori Method of education, developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, is a child-centered educational approach based on her scientific observations of children. She developed the planes of development (from birth to adulthood), which are used to group children for the purpose of providing the best learning environment. The Montessori Method has been used for more than a century and has been adopted by diverse cultures throughout the world. The Montessori Method fosters independence, responsibility, respect and competency. Students receive interest-based lessons and may work in small groups or individually.
While our K-8 school is a public charter, our 3 and 4 year old primary program is a private, tuition based program. Tuition for 10 months is $8000, and may be paid in lump sum, two split payments or on a monthly basis. We do accept VPK vouchers for students who are 4 by September 1st. While we have yet to be advised what the voucher credit will be for the 2017-2018 school year, last year it was worth approximately $250 per month. Students in the VPK program must adhere to strict attendance guidelines. Follow this link to apply for the state's VPK program:
